Exercise 1.5

As we continue to develop ideas and topics for our upcoming research paper, we have another exercise to try and help us do just that. When coming up with a topic you may find that you become so fixated on one topic your interested in you can miss other solid options. This exercise helps us to go deeper into our topic and really evaluate if it is usable or not. The topic I am interested in and will be evaluating is, Mangers in the Premier League

1. Inquiry Question - Why, in recent years, have managers in the premier league's careers been so short and have been fired so quickly?

2.

Explore

Primary Purpose - Come up with some questions that if answered could help you understand the question above.

1. Have salaries of the managers increased lately?
2. Does every owner of a club feel that his team should be best in the world?
3. Are there more managers on the market looking for jobs than before?
4. Are players more quick to dismiss or reject managers causing inter turmoil?

Argue

Tentative thesis - Managers in the premier league have been getting fired so easily lately because of two reasons, the club owners are impatient and want to see immediate improvement, and players these days are very self minded and don't have enough patience for their managers.

3. The reason I am interested in this topic is because I love soccer, especially the premier league. Over the last few seasons I've seen a whole lot of managers be fired. It interests me why this is, and I'd like to know more about what the reasons for it are. I can't think of any real biases I have on the topic, I don't really have a favorite manager or anything like that. Before picking this topic i was thinking about soccer, right now I'm still thinking about soccer, that's why this topic interests me so much.
